Default Leaking Injector

Im looking at buying a 2000 7.3 with about 245k miles. He is asking 5k but he said that an injector is leaking and that the ford dealership diagnosed it as one leaking injector. How much would it cost to fix? Is it bad if the truck was driven with a leaking injector?

Im not to sure. The guy said he had it diagnosed at a ford dealership and they said it was a leaking injector. He also said the truck smokes while its running.

It depends on what they are calling a leaking injector. Is it the injector its self or is it bad o rings? O rings are about 50 for a full set, an injector is about 200

My main question is can the engine be messed up because of the leaky injector? Like ruin pistons or anything major because of the leaky injector. I will replace the injector ASAP if I buy it

It can. If to much raw fuel goes into a cylinder it can melt pistons and cylinder walls
