Default cold start problems

hello everone. im still having problems with my truck starting. i replaced my glow plug relay which was bad and my glow plugs because i seen autolights in it and put motocraft butits still wont start without being pluged in. i plug a scaner up to it and looked at the datastream and found my ect sensor reading -40. i know gasser would be hard to start because the car is dumping alot of fuel in the system. would this cause a diesel to do the same. i also think my injectors r dirty as well i got some bg 109 i think that whats its called. you run it before the oil change that helps restore the compression and cleans the oil ports inside the injector. trying to fix this problem because im tired of it not starting when i need it to. thanks everone for ur help

You need to switch to 5w-40 if you haven't already the seem to start way easer good job on getting them junk autolites out of there how did your valve cover gaskets look? And sub harnesses? Also I usually jump the air heater to the glow plug relay so it comes on with the glow plugs it makes cold starts a lot easer also your truck need to have good batteries 500 cranking RPM or more to start and I wouldn't use anything but Archoil9100 as an oil additive it's great for these injectors in the 7.3 and 6.0 engines also when was the last time you changed your Cam sensor ? And fuel filter? And when you change your fuel filter it's always a good idea to drain the bowl inspect the fuel heater and fill bowl full of seafoam and then put new filter on it helps clean the injectors out and what not.

I have 2 new batterys, and a new alternator on that part. I replaced the valve cover gasket sets and check the wiring it was in good. Shape Im planning on putting new fuel filter in when I change oil. I have always ran Rotella 15 40 but I will check 5 40

Im sure the truck has the same one in it with 275k on it. Last owner didn't take care of the truck and I been trying to fix it. Then I plug my launch scanner and see coolant was reading -40 so I thought I will go after that next.
