I have a 2000 F350 with the 7.3L I have replaced the positive battery cable and now the engine cranks a lot quicker, but while I am cranking I have noticed that the RPM's do not move. It takes a minute but the truck starts then once and a while it will die while I am driving. I am thinking it may be my CPS, any ideas

what is the difference between the ford one and the aftermarket ones

 

I put a CPS from Advance auto parts on my truck when I was trying to eliminate the stalling problem, wound up running like crap drove it around town came back home and went to start the next morning and it would start and die, I had my old CPS and figured can't be, switched it out and the truck fired right up. So I buy all the electrical parts now from Ford.
