asking for a friend of mine. he is looking at a 01 power stroke f-350, are there any problems with these that he should be aware of ? it does have 173,000 on it , automatic, 4X4.
it needs bodywork but the guy says it is great mechanically. thanks for any help

yeah, there are a couple videos of buying guides for superdutys on you tube

otherwise the main thing to look for is just maintenance, any records? fluid changes? original transmission?
stuff like that

 

Look out for oil leaks. Specifically from the HPOP or charger seals. Check the valley to see if its pooling up there.
