I just bought a 01 stroker. Its got 155,000 miles and was clean. Its has the 5inch exhaust and predator 60horse tune for fuel economy. The truck runs great and plenty of power but I have notice that it smokes faint. I didnt notice this until I was driving the other night and the cars lights behind me showed the smoke at an idle. The truck really doesnt use oil and the turbo is stout. I have no ideas on what this is. Any thoughts?

 

Hard to say. Could be just crappy tuning, could be an air filter, fuel filter. Could be low ICP pressures.

 

I believe I am going to call the previous owner he is an mechanic down the road. I just didnt understand what could be happening the last stroker I had I put 375,000 with no big problems but I had taken care of it. I just hope its not low compression, which I dont think it would be because of all the power its got. I went out and checked and it is bluish thanks for your help.

 

Doubtful its a compression issue. But running a tuner without an EGT gauge is a no no...

Blue smoke would lead me to a turbo issue, leaking oil past the seals and such.

 

It has a K&N filter and straight piped, but I have never heard a turbo in a 7.3 so strong or loud for that matter I think your right. If the seals are bad that probably is why she is so loud not?
