Default Early 99 Front Diff Swap?

I have an opportunity to pickup a 2003 F250 SD complete front Differential. My thinking is that I can swap over to the later hubs and track bar. Gear ratio is the same (3.73). Mileage on donor is 107K. The donor also has the VAC operated hubs as well as ABS...same as mine.

The "yard boy" says it won't interchange....Only 99-2002? Doesn't sound correct to me?

Anyone know for sure?

When did they switch from leafs to coils? if its still a leaf axle I'd see no reason why it wouldn't swap right in. If it is coils, you could switch your truck to coils and get a better ride but I'm guess that'd be a hell of a lot a work for a small gain.

Default MId 2003 Coil spring?

I'm guessing they must have switched in 2003 at sometime because the one I am looking at is 4/2003 and it has leaf springs

I think it will fit but as I understand it will have a metric bolt pattern for wheels?

all SD's do. the OBS are 8 X 6.5 and the SD's are 8 X 170 mm or whatever it is. the wheels will fit the same.
