Default chip and gauges

just got my 6 pos ts chip from tony wildman in today, i plan on ordering an edge insight and all of the hardware to moniter egt, boost and trans temp, however my question is would it be safe to install the chip and keep it on my tamest setting (econo tune) and go easy on it in my daily driving untill i get the edge insight, or should i just wait till i have it before putting the chip in?

You will be fine to run the chip, however keep in mind not to lug the motor, the higher your RPM's the lower your egt's. People think the exact opposite for some reason.

i wasnt planning on towing or making the truck do any work untill i got gauges set up. what do you mean by not lugging the motor, no extended idleing, etc?
