Default Boost psi with stage 1s

What kinda boost will stage 1s get you on a stock turbo? How big of a differance do they make over stock?

Why are you so concerned about boost? Do you only want to build boost? A good tuner will try to give you power with a minimum of boost.

well the stock turbo is out of MAP at 25 psi. anything more is very hard on the bearings.

is that why people unplug the MAP to stop it from defueling?

yes. i'm not sure what the defuel point is on the OBS, on the SD's it's 20-22. mine is 21 psi. the engine is good for about 40 psi with no studs. - it's not the boost pressure that will damage a stock turbo, but the back pressure/ drive pressure (exhaust side of the turbo) that loads the stock bushing setup that leads to failure. - thanks to CSIPSD for this last segment.

so is it bad idea to unplug the MAP? My buddy did that to his 99 and it smoked like hell with only a intake and exaust but my stock obs would take him every time and mine is a manual and his was auto but i think that truck had serious injector problems

NO one should unplug the MAP sensor. Your computer can not fuel the truck properly without it hooked up.

What size stage 1's... Calling an injector a stage 1 is just dumb...

What CC and what nozzle size.
