Bump pressure in the fuel regulator?

They are referring to the Fuel Pressure Regulator shim, all you do is take apart your FPR and insert a .177Cal. BB behind or in front of the spring. It mainly helps if your lift pump is getting weak or you are using more fuel than stock fuel system can supply. You might check on Ford Truck Enthusiast. com they are really dedicated.

ive personally done this with my truck, made a small but nice difference in the low end. saw mileage just increase a tick.
looking from the front of the truck, on the passenger side of the fuel bowl theres a brass 3/4" nut. remove the nut. if a spring does not come out with the nut, take a small pair of needle nose pliers and remove the spring. dip the end of the sping in a little grease (literally just a dab), so theres just enough to hold the bb to the spring. next take a .177 cal bb for a bb gun (prefferably stainless, copper corrodes), put the bb on the end of the spring and insert the spring back in as straight as you can. youll see the spring will seat in almost flush with the edge of the regulator. then reinstall the brass nut

Nope. You can buy a piece through ford or stick a bb in there. Make sure to only do it if you need it. Check your fuel pressure at idle. You want 60-70. I had 40 and now with the shim, about 62.
