Default make your own chip?

so i was checkin a psd out at tractor supply earlier and got to talking to the guy about his mods. he had a edge juice chip on his 6.0, i told him that i had a 97 7.3l and he was telling me that a friend of his has a 7.3 and that he ran like 5 or 6 wires from a toggle switch in the cab to under the hood i guess to the pcm and that it gave him like 120 hp. by now im thinking this dude is crazy because if you could wire up your own chip with some wire and a toggle switch...how the hell does ts and all them stay in buisiness?. anybody got any ideas of what he could have been confused with? the only thing i can think of with a toggle and wires is wiring a exhaust break from your stock turbo

The ONLY way to get a 120 hp increase for ANY 7.3, is to modify the inejctors AND run a good custom chip...
