pretty much. and like i've said before, its just a way for the state to get money......

but really how it works is; a test center will pay the state for a certain amount of tests, say 100 (this is how it works in CT, i dont know about other states). Now for those 100 tests, the test center will pay approx. $150 or so. now for every person that comes in, the test is $20 dollars. so after 8 tests, you've already made your money back (the test center) plus another $10! the rest goes to the test center as income.

but last time i knew there were almost 50 test centers in CT, only 7 do diesel, the shop i was at being one of them. as you can imagine we were ordering more tests every other week.

20 bucks? that's it? that's the price for a gas vehicle in denver area. the diesel pickup places want $65! then the big rig places want $120! and if you have a stack they won't test it.

Dear EPA,

If your reading this, i would like to thank your for bending everyone with a diesel over for $20-$135 for a sticker....... have any of you actually been out in the field to see whats going on, besides listening to big universities??

sincerely,
every pissed off diesel owner in the U.S.

the limit is 20ppm. the worst i've seen was a 5ppm reading. which was a 12v with a fuel plate, injectors, pump turned up, intake, exhaust, stock turbo..... new trucks (08) are at a 0-1ppm reading...

oh alright. the place i went to was in prcents. 35% smoke for a turbo diesel and 45% smoke for a non turbo. my 99 was at 4% at 80 MPH with a full load on the drums.
