Default need a lil help deciding

Ok so im somewhat new to diesel and need a lil help.... i have an 03 6.0 at the moment but im trying to find a decent 7.3. im looking for yrs 94-02 i love the old body style and the new style. but im leaning more towards the old, my question is this.... how reliable are the old style compared to the new and is there any difference... i know it all depends on how its takin care of but on average do they run as good as the newer ones... this is gonna be my daily driver so im looking for something that will be able to take long trips and get decent mileage.... any help is great thanks....

oh and if anyone has a 7.3 they wanna trade lemmie know

If only it wasn't a 2wd 6.oh

But they are practically the same motors without the intercooler. OBS trucks have smaller injectors. Pretty reliable if you ask me.

I'd say keep your eye's open for an OBS and SD because you really can't go wrong with either as long as they were maintained...

i agree they are both great trucks the SD has some advantages but it depends on if youll pull often or if your just doing normal driving.

I loved my '96 but the hassel of adding the IC and electric fuel just wasn't worth it when the SD came with them. My '96, '00, '01 and '08 all got about the same mpg (highway) due to gearing and tires. I'd hold out for a SD if it were me.
