Default Front Axle

I got a question. Will a front axle from a 78 F350 fit a 95 F250 7.3?

possible, i'd try and find one from a 94- 97 f350. make sure it's complete with everything you need. i did this on my old 94 250 and i only had to drill the frame for the sway bar brackets.

Not without a LOT of work.

The spring perches are closer together on the older axle and you will run into issues especially on the left (driver's) side.

yeah the d60's aren't cheap. even a good used one is pretty expensive. i'm assuming you don't like that IFS you have?

Well i changed the rear gearing and iam trying to match the front except i cant find a gear set for the IFS. So, i can either by a IFS with the right gear ($200-300) or find a Dana 60 with the right gear ($1000-1500). Iam thinking of swapping the gear, pinion, shims from a used IFS.

Where is the truck for that axle? 1979 is the first year for the 1 ton 4x4. I would give my left ******** for another 1979 F-350 4x4. I still have the original brochure for the 79 fords.

What gear ratio did you have. I'm wanting to change my 3:55s for some 4:10s. Maybe a trade could work if shipping isn't to bad
