Info on my 1995 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo
Hi,
I am new to this sight but it seems to have lots of great information and knowledgeable people.
I have a 95 ford 7.3L Power Stroke Turbo and I need some information of the turbo waste gate valve. Where is it located? How hard is it to remove and replace? I would like to do this myself.
Thanks, Rick

It does not have a wastegate. It has an EBPV. (Exhaust Back Pressure Valve). It blocks off the exhaust during warm up. This restriction makes the computer deliver more fuel to maintain an idle and sometimes to maintain a speed when still cold and full throttle is not required for power. After the engine is warmed up, the valve opens fully.

I replaced all the glow plugs and the glow plug switch. The truck will not start unless plugged in during cold weather. In warm weather if you don't let the truck warm up for 20-25 minutes when you drive it it will not go over 30mph for about 2-3 miles. Then it gains full power and takes off.

Passanger side exhaust manifold, front. You will see a tube that runs from there to the front of the motor. Replace that tube and sensor.
Your issue will go away.
As far as the truck not starting when cold, sounds like the glow plugs are still not working.
Check this link, might help with the diognostics...
