I have no idea what is goin on with the stupid check engine light.
If i get on it not really havin too high of egt's check engine light comes on.
Most of the times in the past its come its because i ran it too hot but i would just have to let er cool down shut off and turn back up no more check engine light.
Now it will come on usually when i get into 3rd then it'll stay on til i shut er off but turn back on now light.
Im a tad confused here can anyone help me? I also believe my injectors are goin bad, is that what can be causin this?

The PCM has no idea, not a clue what the EGT's are...

Your issue sounds like a ICP issue. I would bet your ICP pressures are falling off and then you get the code.

Pull the codes, bet you get a P1211...

Your 97 has AB injectors in it which were a early model of the split shots used in the superdutys... OIL hungry SOB's.

I would try and find a 17* HPOP off a later 99.5 and newer 7.3... Or talk to Bob at Dieselsite for an Adrenaline.

 

No.... his sig say's Stage 2 injectors.... I will bet the life of all Joe's chickens it's an ICP code...

And FWIW, the CEL turns off after about two minutes... The code has been stored though..
