So I was driving my moms truck today. It's a 97 cc lb 4WD. Auto trans. it has a rednecked 4" straight pipe on it and a K&N filter in the stock box. It is just a turd. I mean it took almost a mile just to get up to 65 MPH What could this be?

Fresh oil& filter change with new fuel filter.

When that happens to the 7.3's at work its time for injectors. I would first check the ebpv and then fuel pressure before you go buying injectors.

It's a49 state to my knowledge. and it doesn't seem like it's lacking on fuel delivery. it idles smooth. accelerates smooth. but jus not fast at all. and it shouldn't need injectors at 155,xxx miles...

No, injectors should be fine... COuld just be a stock truck, they are dogs... 90cc injectors. 15* hpop... That's just what they are.

i got a 94 powerstroke. when i first got it it was totally stock. and i could beat hers any day of the week. and that was with 2 dead injectors. i had a bully dog 6 pos on it. it helped a little. but it made more smoke than power. and put it at about 10 mpg with a lite foot.

6 pos was on moms pickup...

Are you saying there is a chip on your moms truck and it still feels underpowered?

The 94 with a chip is still about 60hp more than a stock truck. So yes it has more power.

Well i had it on moms. but it really didn't add much. the "40" hp setting you couldn't tell a difference. "60" hp was what i ran most of the time. the "75" hp you couldn't even use. it would do awesome for the first 50 feet. then the fuel pump couldn't keep up. i wasn't immpressed at all with it.

hmm, that is really odd. I would check that fuel pump though, maybe you got a bad lift pump?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I'm not a genious, but maybe you had a bead lift pump from the start and it is just finally wearing down to it's last bit? I really don't know just throwing that out there. These use a mechanical pump though, I beleive.

well on the other settings it didn't seem like it was lacking on fuel delivery. but yes, it is a mechanical pump. i'm thinkin about geting her a intake, exhaust, and ts chip. that should help a bit.
