I've looked into it but never went with it. I'm switching to CATCOOL when I can, and install a coolant filter. Most of the larger engines I've worked on(ALCO, Paxman, Colt-Pielstick) ran it and had zero buildup when torn apart.

i'm thinking about it somewhat for its waterless characteristics. no cavitation. and definitely a coolant filter. also it's higher boiling point in case of an overheat although i'm wondering what temp the heads would warp at so i wouldnt get a false sense of security with it

I have recently purchased it (yikes talk about expensive!) but I haven't had the chance to put it in. It will be going into the truck with the new intercooler, Hi Perf oil cooler, EGR delete kit and coolant filter kit from Sinister. I will post results after I have the install completed along with temps experienced under various driving conditions. I have the Banks iQ so I am able to monitor loads of data at the same time, and take a pic for later analysis.

Boy I tell ya there is a lot of discontent about Banks products and I am not sure why. Unless you have tried them you can't know or understand how good they are. You are right to have the "wish" for the iQ but if I were you and you can hold off a little longer, I would get the iQ with either the Six Gun (if you like crazy power) or the Economind (if you use your truck for towing). I would recommend you call Banks directly to get your best deal. And no, I don't work for or have any thing to do with the company. I just really believe in their products. Bottom line it is your truck and your money.

Like fordornothing stated, just because it isn't listed doesn't mean it isn't available. Give Banks a call and tell them what you have and see what they can do for you. I really don't think you will be disappointed. With my economind and iQ set to the highest level I can smoke the tires easily, though I haven't tried it while in 4WD. Then again I don't like to push my stuff too hard "just because" since it is pricey to fix.

really? i'd think it'd be stupid of them not to list something they can make money on. i guess its better to ask than to assume
