sorry i have a 1996 f150 but it is a crew cab short bed. i am wanting to put a lift on it but the highest lift they make is a 6" inch. i want to go with 8" inches of lift so superduty leafsprings will work.
the springs on the f150 are 2 1/2" wide and the superduty's are 3" inches wide.
people say that they just swap springs and thats it but i dont understand how, if they are two different size widths. how can you make them fit.
also the f150 has the coilspring up front and i want to replace that with a solid dana 60 axle with leafsprings and need to know where to put the hangers for it.
any idea how long the rear driveshaft will have to be lengthened to. what about a drive shaft for the front because it is only a 2wd(putting a 4x4 tranny in)
any advice appreciated!!!!

maybe you would be better of trying to find a f250 4wd frame and/or a donor truck.then you could swap bodies and other stuff.
find a f250 or f350 locally to take measurements from.best thing to do would be find a f350 truck for all the hangers and assorted parts you will need.(spring hangers, trans and case, etc)
rear driveshaft, you will need to finish suspension too take neasurements.in the front you could do a rsk 5.5in kit with 3-4in springs for your lift.

i fond a kit on sky manu. and it is for leaf springs
Chevy/Ford or Domestic leaf spring hangers, 3 inch or 3.5 ID, tapered to slide over rocks.
1/2 inch bolt holes, not a mount from another vehicle, saves hours over building your own.
Constructed of laser cut and CNC formed 1/4 plate steel.
Shipped as raw steel.
$40 Pr.
would this work for front and rear and just weld it to the frame and bring the rear leaf closer to the frame.
but the sway bar links that go the the frame would be in the way so i could move the sway bar links strait under the frame with shock tabs

one issue u will have is on the front axle. unless u redo the frame, or run coils in front, u will not be able to bolt or weld in spring perches. behind your front bumper is a crumple zone. the frame is acordioned. thats where the leafspring mount should go.
2wd to 4wd swap isnt that hard. i have done 3 of them now. the last one( my ford in my sig) took me 2 days to complete from 2wd to 4wd and out the door.
