98 7.3 wont start turns over clean fuel

I have 98 Ford e350 7.3 ps diesel ambulance. I started the truck drove a couple hundred yards and the motor shut down as if someone turned off the ignition. When try to restart the motor only turns over, there has been no iddication of any problems like running rough or any other sign of fuel problems. I have drained the fuel completly and found no comtamination. I am in Mexico so to find help is diffficult. Also I am have a problem finding a good fuse and relay diagraham online I am hoping for a simple solution to my problem. Hoping for help.

Is the WTS light coming on?

Does the tach move when cranking?

Is there any smoke coming out the tailpipe when cranking?

Thanks for the reply the wts light is not coming on and the digital tach is not reading but gives a Cerr code and no smoke. daves

Sounds like a CPS... They aren't very expensive and really easy to replace.

Check all your fuses also.

And a CPS is a ? And you find it located where?

Camshaft positioning sensor..

It's behind the bottom left pulley, I believe it's 2 bolts holding it in real quick and easy to get from under the truck, just be care full not to strip the bolts

I just found a 30a fuse blown it is number 8 do I just replace and try or would I have to change the CPS first?

Definitely replace a blown fuse... I don't have a fuse diagram in front of me so I'm not sure what that one is for..

The tach not moving usually means bad CPS...

I replaced the fuse but it blew when I tried to start it, would the CPS cause this to happen.
