horrible fuel mileage
no smoke at all rollin.
runs fine but getting bad fuel milage trucks bone stock, any ideas?! thanks. |
Changed the fuel filter recently?
|
no i havnt, i just bought the truck and its due for and oil change, i mean i put the trip on zero with exactly half a tank of fuel and went like 75 miles and i was almost out
|
Yea change the fuel filter, air filter and oil i bet you will see a real big change in mileage.
|
Yeah but I get 200 miles from full to half a tank then about 120 on the last half, so it may not be as bad as you think
|
Yeah im not getting anything close to that. More like how many gallons to the mile
|
You may not be far off... Fill it up. Drive it 200 miles. Fill it back up. Take miles driven divided by how much fuel you put back in it. Let us know what that is.
If you just bought the truck, change the oil, fuel filter, what kind of air filter does it have? Is it stock exhaust? Key to these trucks are let them breathe. 6637 intake and 4" exhaust with 3" downpipe. |
I am in Peoria now for a few more weeks, if you would like I can hook up to it with Auto Enginuity and see what comes up, run a few tests.
If its stock you will get no smoke, so I would not be concerned there. More then likely with almost 200k the up pipes are leaking badly. |
Thanks.for the good info. Yeah the truck is bone stock with the restrictive down pipe and intake. So im sure that's got alot to do with it.
And the gguy that in peoria. What u mean pipes are leaking wouldn't I see smoke anyway folding from somewhere |
