Default Converting to super-duty electric fuel pump

I need advice on how to convert to a superduty electric fuel pump. I want to keep the factory filter system, regulator, return, etc. Since the original mechanical pump is two stage, do I want to put the electric in place of the first stage and force the fuel through the filter at an even higher pressure? Or, do I want to put it in place of the second stage and "suck" the fuel through the filter?

Mount a superduty fuel pump under the truck on the frame somewhere. Cut it in after the tank selector valve.

remove the factory pump, and all lines from it, feed the fuel bowl the pressurised fuel from the superduty pump and re pipe the lines to the back of the heads...

Biggest pain is going to be plugging the hole with a freeze plug and re piping the supply.

Would be much easier to just ditch the factory set up all together and add your own filters under the truck...

My new airtex fuel pump came with the "in" side fitting removed. It came with two copper washers, an O-ring, and a threaded brass fitting that fits on the threaded (plastic?) pump end. What parts go between the pump and fitting? What are the (other) parts for?
