Default Injector queston.

How long can one of these 7.3's go with bad injectors. The reason I ask is because at work we have a '97 with 191k and it had codes for 3 injectors being bad last time we checked. The truck runs horrible,shakes,smokes,10mpg empty, very gutless, and sounds terrible. Its been like this for over two years and it refuses to die. Is there any negative to running it like this? What kind of damage will result form this kind of abuse?

raw fuel in the cylinders or no fuel wich means a dry cylinder or alot of unburned fuel hince the smoke and shaking oh and no power if you dont like the truck let it go and let it blow and become worthless or change all the injectors and keep the truck for a few more hundered thousand miles . What you are doing to that PSD is a sin and a waste of a good truck . But thats my opionion

I agree with you, it is a waste. Its been trouble free since it was new but its not my call to fix it. Its a school district that owns it and it seems like they rather pull an engine than fix something simple. Some of the abuse Ive seen working here is just horrific.

tell em it's junk, offer to buy said junker for pennies on the dollar. Then fix what's wrong with it and have a good spare rig hangin around.

That will probably end up happening. The 4x4 works good and the a/c is cold, thats all i care about.
