Default 1997 PSD Opinions and Guidance....

Just picked up a 97 PSD Regular cab LB, 4x4, with Tommy Gate, 182,000 miles, XLT. Im on ohio, the truck is from Kansas, so body is still pretty decent with the wheel wells starting to show through just a little. The 7.3 is totally stock and engine compartment is super clean with no leaks anywhere to be seen, as well as the underside...quite impressive for this year.
I had a 96 2wd that I put a K&N filter kit on, and 3" downpipe to stock exhaust...that was it, and that truck ran better than this one, or else I just got used to how well that truck ran to this one, and just need to get some "GETTY UP" PARTS on it. The Turbo on the 96 screamed real good after the breathe better parts, and on this new one, you can barely hear the turbo when you step into it.
Dont get me wrong, the engine runs real good, slight miss at idle but hoping good fuel will work that out, seems to have improved recently. Got the truck for a real good price, well, at least I think it was a good price compared to all that I had looked at....only took 8 months to find one!
So Let me know where I can find some parts for good prices, or what do you recommend...I am on a tight budget, so I cant get real crazy....yes it is the truck in the album that I posted...thanks!

Rick

these are a few places in colorado, ats diesel performance ( Parallels H-Sphere ) elite diesel. ( - Elite Diesel - ) or beans diesel out of tennessee. i'm not sure what is in ohio. elite specializes in the powerstroke. so i waould talk to them. i know it's a little ways away but it's worth it. as long as you can do the work your self. or take your truck to them. they are in pueblo colorado. ats has awesome products but they are a little proud of them. i know their auto trannys are bullet proof. if your looking for that.

What are you looking to do? What are the issues with the truck? First mod should ALLWAYS be some gauges. Pyro, Tranny temp and Boost.

After that its up to your wallet...

yeah but all they carry is some intake kits and exhaust. but you'll probably pay to much for it there.
