The water it is detecting is actually in the water seperator/fuel filter housing. There should be a yellow lever at the front of the housing. moving that lever to the left drains the seperator through a hose. Make sure the hose is there and drain into a suitable container, Maybe take a look at what comes out.

Just drain it on the ground... Unless you work for the EPA...

Sounds like youve got a little water in the bowls, i leave the truck running when i drain them. On both of my 7.3s the light rarely stays solid and flashes on and off unless its alot of water.

I run Conklin's 4 Power diesel conditioner/cleaner through my truck every 4,000miles or when ever I have a water issue. Totally disperses the water. Been using it for 20 yrs.

I run Diesel in my truck... about 450-500 gallons a month... Seems to have worked for the last million miles...

LOL
