Or has it just been sent out slowly?
Manufacturers are under liable accountability for their product forever.

Sometimes, problems aren't realized until years later. If each piece was tested for infinite reliability, which is what the legal system has made each manufacturer responsible to attain, then products would never be released because they'd be in the testing phases for infinity.

So, products are released and when problems crop up years later, you get a safety recall retroactive back into the last century.

Believe me when I tell you that trucks in wrecking yards are actually required to have safety recalls performed as well....after all, someone might buy that bad part for $3 from Sideline Auto Wrecking.

Hope this helps,

Dan

my expedition is a 98 and i got the letter about 3 years ago.... looks like they are covering their butts and spending the extra few bux to make sure it won't happen to other vehicles with similar sensors then them waiting to pay settlements out of court for loss of peoples house, car and possibly life due to their negligence

I dropped off my truck, they said they would be done in 30-45 minutes, and gave me a call 15 minutes after I left the dealership saying it was done.
