Default 2000 PSD TURBO. help !

Hey bombers.
A guy living a little over an hour away from me has a turbo off of a 2000 powerstroke listed online. I gave him a call asking a couple of questions. He said that the compressor wheel and the bearing were all in good shape and the turbo has about 75,000 miles on it. The turbo on my 97 is pretty worn out and i was wondering if i would be able to throw the turbo off of the 2000 PSD onto my '97. The guy is asking $50... If i could do this, that would be prime over buying a compressor wheel for $80.
Post up guys i need this answered !
Thanks

Anyone?

Nope... It will not fit your truck. You would have to swap the turbo pedistal, up pipes, Y pipe to even get close.

You could buy the turbo and clean it up and sell it for about $200 if its in good shape, but dont get it for your truck.

You can swap the wheel, but I dont see any improvement with that...

The compressor wheel on my turbo wheel has some bent fins. I thought that the superdutys had a wheel that was different and caused it to surge more or something like that.. Or was that
only in the 99's ?

Yes, the L99 to 03 trucks have a wheel that moves more air, but lends it to surge.

Just order a new wheel from one of the vendors and you would be much better off.

the banks wheel is a good upgrade but you can get more for it if you trade it

Banks wheel is the same as the Wicked Wheel as the xtream wheel or all the other names are... It should be a direct swap for what you have in your truck. If every other fin is clipped shorter then the next its a OBS/E-99 compressor... if there all the same, then its a stocker.
