Your transimission has a code its throwing, thats why the light blinks. Time to get it scanned to find out whats going on. Is it acting weird or shifting differently? Welcome to DieselBombers as well!

How many miles on the tranny? E4OD stock are good for about 80K. Mine started throwing codes. Filter/fluid changes helped it along for a full year until I had the money for a built Jasper E4OD. Background info from my tranny guy was the tranny excess slippage code or the rearend sensor can cause the od light to blink putting max line pressure to the tranny for "limp home" mode. You will know when this happens as it scared the crap outa me the first time. Hope that helps

it's probably a solinoid acting up. That's why it went out. Don't worry about it, unless it comes on again, then go get it scanned. My old man's '90 F250 has 650K and the E40D hasn't acted up yet.

did you have it scanned for codes? It could be a solenoid pack, T/C, or it could even be something in the wiring for the shifter as well. When mine did it, the T/C was shot. Do you have a trans temp gauge? If so what temps are you seeing

All my experiences have led to one thing. When the light flashes, it's usually the beginning of the end.
