powerstroke guys
okay so normaly im a dodge guy but i came across a wrecked 95 or 96 stroker with the motor intact with about 150,000 on it i was wondering how much these used motors should go for price wise and power i have a 96 F-150 that could be lookin forward to a conversion
so any advise would be great!
psd motors are pretty expensive, i ve seen them run 1,000 on up to 3,500 for just a motor. if its the whole truck than go for it because you will need the engine harness, gauge cluster, and all the drive train.
thats a start, only diff. in the gauges is the rpm range, and they also say "diesel fuel" on the fuel gauge. the glow plug and water in fuel light are in the info center to the right of the gauge cluster.
sounds like a fun conversion. as already said you will need everything that's under the hood all the way back to the rear axle. the PCM will be behind the drivers side kick panel. make sure all that is there. the gauge cluster isn't a huge deal, but i would get one from a powerstroke along with the wait to start and water in fuel lights. oh yeah and fuel lines and i would take the fuel tanks if possible..
