Default 95 7.3L HPOP Draining Rough Idle Sluggish Throttle Response

Traded one of my trucks for 7.3, when i got it i found out after the trade that he must have been starting it with ether. First i put diesel clean injector cleaner in it along with lucas oil additive full synthetic. Afterwards i went ahead and put new glo-plugs injector o rings and a valve cover harness on the passenger side. This is my first time putting my hands on a diesel and got it as a learning experience. I found out i had put my o rings on wrong and had to take it back apart and put new ones on again. In this process (first putting in the injectors with the bad o ring setup) my dumbass thought it was ok to beat on the tops of the injectors to get them in far enough to get the screw in. Anyways i got that job all put back together and it still wouldnt start. Went to the hpop plug and the reservoir was bone dry. I filled the hpop through the plug and the truck started after a little bit of cranking. Although the idle of the truck was horrible and the throttle response was very sluggish like it had no power. Most times it would run until the hpop drained and then it would shut off. Also replaced starter solenoid and glow plug relay. The IPR where the magnetic piece goes on the shaft of it was slightly bent so i have a new IPR coming and ICP. Also did the whole unplug the ICP and see if it runs and there was no difference. Today i tested the valve cover harness resistances. On each 5 pin at the gasket the outside pins both read under 2 ohms on each connector but the rest of the pins read OL. Wondering if anyone had any recommendations not very experienced with diesel mechanics and dont wanna keep throwing money in the wrong directions. Thanks!

it can take a long time for the oil system to get primed and start back up and will take 100 or so miles till it works all the air out and the idle smooths out. the first thing you will want to do is drain your oil and replace it and never use the lucas oil additive ever again. it is garbage in a 7.3 and will ruin your high pressure system.
