Hi there, I have a 96 7.3 powerstroke. A couple weeks ago I was driving to work and as I began to accelerate(truck was still cold) the truck started hesitating. Almost like it wanted to die. I also noticed white smoke from the exhaust. Only when accelerating though. When I was at a cruise or just keeping speed it was fine. When the truck warmed up it stopped. Then a couple days ago the truck warmed up and it still wanted to die. Just not as bad as when it was cold. So now the truck wants to die when its warm and cold. My question is what's causing my truck to want to die when accelerating? The trucks starts great, no lights on, idles fine, and when I rev it its good. only when I begin to accelerate. interesting note, trucks an auto and when I manually shift from 1st to 2nd back to drive it does not seem to be as bad. Really confused with this so please help.
