Default programmers or tunner?

I have a 1996 f250 with a 7.3l with a 5 speed manual. I am looking into a programmer or a tunner. I want something on my dash not something you plug up and unplug. I was looking at the edge evolution 2nd generation but I didn't know if it will work with the 96 or not. Does anybody have any recommendations for me? Price really doesn't matter.

Programmer and tuner is the same thing and they are both **** on a 7.3. Get a hydra or a TS 6pos with custom tuning

I wouldn't let Jody Tipton tune my weed eater. The best thing you can run is a hydra or TS 6pos with custom tunes. I loved my wildman tunes, I want to try gearhead but there are a few others I wouldn't mind trying

well i have been reading and he really wouldn't have to tune it because mine is a manual transmission and they really only have to tune for automatics. that only what i have read about. which is better for the money? a hydra or TS 6pos? will a edge evolution 2nd generation work with my 96?

Someone has to tune it if you want more power. You don't need transmission tuning with a 5sp but you do need engine tuning. Edge sucks at everything. The hydra isn't much more then the TS and it can hold 16 tunes and it is way easier to install new tunes in it if you ever want if to change tuners or do injectors or upgrades in the future
