ford speaker wire diagrams SUCK
So a simple radio swap right?
The stock radio/cd player is lousy, plus the cds get stuck.
So I pull the old one out, no problem.
Get the power all connected correctly, no problem.
Then the speaker wires I'm told are to be all with some color of stripe.
WRONG!
Mine are:
solid yellow
solid brown
solid light green
solid light blue
white, with red stripe
light blue, with black stripe
white, with orange stripe
purple, with white stripe
WTF over? It's like someone just decided to do that "something special" just for my truck.
Hope someone out there has an idea because I have tried lots of touching of wires together and have no sound, no noise, nada, zip.

OK, so I pulled a speaker out.
Guess what? It is the colors that they (1996 Ford F350 Truck Car Radio Wiring Diagram) say it is.
So who had the bright idea of running the speaker wires into some switch under the dash and out of that comes the ones (colors above) that plug into the unit!
What happened to just running speaker wires from the speaker to the stereo?
Anyone know how to fix this?

No, it was all factory.
Found some posts on ford-trucks.com and someone else had the same problem.
I traced the wires to a factory installed amplifier (who knew the crappy sounding stereo was an upgrade) and did what was suggested....hook the blue wire to the red wire.
Lo and behold it powered up the amp and now it sounds better than ever.
Too bad Ford didn't just put in a Kenwood to begin with, would have saved me 1/2 a day!
Most of my money I have spent on whiskey and women, the rest I just wasted.
