Default 7.3 runs like crap with new fuel filter

OK, trying this again and maybe someone out there can tell me what the hell is going on!!

Changed the fuel filter and it now has this intermittent "hiccup"

I have pumped out fuel from the schrader valve, I have driven it and still runs like crap.

It's a 96 F350 7.3 turbo

Do I need to just keep pouring fuel out on the ground and driving? Will it get better?

Drain filter housing dump a bottle of seafoam or good fuel additive such as IXL into fuel bowl until it's full and see if that clears the hiccup also I had a slobbering injector in my 2002 7.3 and I used archoil 9100 in the oil and there fuel additive and it cleared it right up but for a start I would run down and pickup a bottle of seafoam and fill your housing up and run that through it

I have used seafoam and like it.
Happy to try this but the truck ran fine until I changed the filter!
Not sure that any additive will purge air in the system will it?

What it sounds like is when you changed filter it got some dirt in the system or something run some seafoam through it see what happens doubt there is air in the system it would bleed itself out

I've never not changed the filter in my 7.3 and not used seafoam it's a great additive

So air in the system will eventually work itself out?

Just emptied the filter can, filled it with seafoam, started the truck and let it run for about 10 minutes then took it for a drive.
No change. Still this intermittent miss.
Feeling like I need to take it to the dealership...which I REALLY don't want to do!!

Check your fuel pressure Mabey in the midst of changing the filter you messed up the return pipe and it's returning fuel or Mabey there's something sticking in the pressure regulator you should have 45 to 60 psi it will flexuate between there because of the mechanical pump

Check the fuel heater also if it's touching the bowl it will cause some funky readings to the ECM or possibly blow the ECM fuse

And yes air won't stay in the system for 30 seconds or so

So the fuel pressure tester says it is not for diesel, plus, ford adapter is missing. Figures.
However, when I hit the schrader valve when truck is at idle it sprays out STRONG so I bet the pressure is sufficient.

Like I said, it was running fine with the old (dirty) filter. At least it didn't have this intermittent miss. No rhythm to the miss, just random and some more pronounced that others.

Out of ideas and fed up! It is totally pissing me off.
