Default New truck purchase

I currently own a 93 f350 4x4 cclb srw with a 351 and auto, with a plow setup. 107000 original miles and runs great. I love the truck, it's as close to my dream truck as I've gotten so far.
Anyway I found a 95 f350 crew cab Long bed with a 7.3 psd and 5 speed, 4x4. This truck has 201k and they are asking $5000. Minus paint and interior color, the truck is exactly what I want. But I have questions.
This will be my first diesel, I am mechanically inclined, so hopefully I'll catch on quick . Given the mileage, what exactly should I be looking for when I check the truck out? Is the mileage too high and I should be worrying about it? Anything to worry about? Is it a good price? It's a northern truck so it does have rust, as does mine. The truck is in a different state so I want to know everything I can and get opinions on the situation before driving out to look at it..
Also if it were you, would you trade my current truck in for the diesel, or would you keep it for parts swap, etc. I have no use for two cclb, but I've tossed the idea around quite trading it or not. What do you think?
Thanks in advanced I appreciate it. I've been searching for awhile on these trucks because it's what I want and I want to learn, but again this will be my first diesel.

Also... Where is a good place to look for general diesel knowledge for a new guy.. I've been looking but apparently idk how to search well.. I'm not completely stupid when it comes to diesel, I have some knowledge but not enough to be comfortable yet.. Haha

Thanks guys

I bought my 95 f250 7.3 with around 220000 on it and after a little tlc and a new fuel pump she rums like a charm. Got to rework the glow plugs once it warms up. I would jump on it if the motor is in good shape and its what you want. And on knowledge of the 7.3 obs if you can figure out the oil fired injectors then you should be just fine.

OK thanks. Is 16 mpg a realistic number to expect from this truck? I'd like to be able to more than double my fuel economy of 7 mpg with this truck hopefully. After some research, it looks like the new truck has 4.10 gears.
Also everybody says a cold start will tell you everything you need to know about how good of condition it's in. But I can't find anywhere what I'm suppose to be looking for when I do this. Any help?

Yea 15-16 sound be pretty reasonable. My 7.3 has a 6" lift and 35s and i see 14-15 sometimes 16 if im lucky. When doin a cold start run the glow plugs about 2-3 times and try to crank it up. If it has a hard time or wont start then check tge glow plug relay. Thats the most common cold start problem on these trucks. Doea it have any mods?

OK thanks for the info. It's totally stock one owner.

Also, the carfax shows it was built in 12/94 and sold in 1/95 with 14 miles on it. If that would help any with information for me thanks

Well it looks like I'll be driving out there tomorrow to check it out. So hopefully the truck is worthwhile and I'll be driving it home. Still haven't decided if I'll be trading in my current truck or keeping them both. We'll see tomorrow. Hopefully this truck will be no my driveway with no issues or problems tomorrow

The 94-97 PSDs run forever. I get exceptional fuel economy with mine, better than my Nissan Maxima with the VQ35.
