Default Anyone put a waste gate on a stock 96 7.3 turbo

Hi I'm having a problem in my 96 powerstroke and was told adding a wastegate could help because it's not deboosting when I let off I already have a intake and exaust and ts chip

It's throwing a boost code and read somewhere it's not dumping the boost fast enough between shifts causing the code

It comes on when ever I get on it I clear it on a normal basis

Yes a ts is only chip I have a intake and truck is straight piped I read on a thread awhile back about someone having this issues and it could be solved by installing a wastegate but I cannot locate the tread again

Your not running enough boost to need a waste gate. You dont need one
