I thought in was stock...
Re: 97 F350 7.3l
I'm confused and surprised...
I thought while I was waiting on advice and parts to fix some strange going on's with my sensors... while it was down, I'd throw in a riffraff billet compressor wheel (RDP170293).
Funny. I really hadn't looked at it very close. I had assumed it was just stock... When I started getting into it... Well, I decided instead of just putting the compressor wheel on with the turbo while installed, that I'd pull the turbo.
I'm going ahead and upgrading the thrust bearings and rebuild it. It has silicone sealer between the compressor housing shell. I'm thinking that I wouldn't be able to reuse the o-ring and it must have been leaking... But looking closer (I haven't got it apart yet), it looks like the wheel in it was already an upgraded compressor wheel. 5/5 fins in the inlet and they extend out into the inlet.
I'm sure the Riffraff billet wheel is better(?)... but I am surprised to find that it already had an upgrade there.
I know they had done some mods. It has a K&N filter kit, not the usual "filter replacement. More a mod like the NAPA filter mod. A big downpipe and dual exhaust split out before the muffler (no catalytic converter).
I was thinking on a tuner chip and stage 1 injectors. I was thinking on Mini Swamps and a PHP hydra.
Maybe I should check into it in more detail and see if there is anything else already done? I figured at least, that I would pull the PCM to record the numbers before I order a chip.
Any advice on that? I was thinking of just getting the chip first... but not sure if I should wait on that until "after" the injectors. I asked this on PHP's forum... 4 days and not one comment. (Wondering how that reflects...)

Not sure about the turbo. Swamps makes some quality injectors, full force does as well. As for tuning a lot of people are happy with PHP but I heard they are very difficult to get ahold of. Im going to go with gear head when I need new tuning.
You can do a chip first but will have to get updated tunes when you get the Injectors but dont forget you need gauges before you add anymore power

Gauges were ordered last week and were supposed to be here already. Should be here Monday (hopefully). Already been running Torque Pro for gauges, but it can only monitor whats going through the PCM.
So you are saying that I should do injectors first... being I might as well just do tunes when everything is already there... Would make sense money wise? From reading, my mods, then include stage 1's would still be considered as mild mods. Right? Or would a tune specifically to the stage 1's, including my other mods... be "better?"
