Default 97 Stroker Dead and stranded Please help

My 97 stroker started running like crap out of the blue tonight . I was driving down the road and started to notice that it was lacking power . I went from 70 mph to 10 mph in a hurry . it was acting like it wanted to die . I pulled over and struggled to keep it running . As I was trying to keep it running it died . I went to restart it and it failed to start . I waited about ten minutes and tried again . It did fire back up and idled rough . I was going to try and limp it to the nearest town and put it in drive and it died immediately and now it wont fire at all . It acts like it is not getting any fuel . With that being said Both fuel tanks are full . I can hear the fuel pump running . The fuel filter bowl is full of fuel . It is pumping fuel into the filter bowl . The fuel is not gelled . Does anyone have an idea on what might be wrong . I would not be asking but I am 500 miles from home and all of my tech manuals are at home as well as a good diesel mechanic . There is an auto parts store close but the nearest diesel shop is another 100 miles away . I have all my tools with me I just need some help . Also there are no upgrades on the truck , fuel filter was just changed , as well as the oil and the oil level is dead on . I have even tried my spare filter and there were no changes. O and when I put the truck in drive it reminded me of a gas engine with incorrect timing .

If not the IPR, I'd go next to the crankshaft sensor. It can shut the engine down when it starts to crap out.

Crankshaft sensors are notorious for going bad in these....bet thats it. I carry an extra in my glovebox

The beauty of it is they're only $28 at the Ford dealer. Don't buy an aftermarket one, I've heard they're very unreliable. The dealer ones are gray and the aftermarket ones are black. You don't want a black one.

I got a blue one from the international dealer. Heard they were reliable CPS sensors. Mines 8 years old and hasn't missed a beat, Funny though it has a little ford emblem molded in the plastic.

I'd be willing to bet that the sensor from International would be a good option. I didn't think of going to them. Are they about the same price as the ones from Ford?

As I recall was cheaper. The old sensor I had would kick the whole truck around 57 mph as the signal dropped off and killed the injectors and I hated that almost as much as the limp home mode when my E40D was dying it's slow death.

Best of luck with yours.
