Default What do i need to look for?

Hey guys,

Over the course of the next 2 years, i gonna be browsing around for '97 f-series f250 supercab with the 7.3 powerstroke. I'm setting this timeline, not because money is too much of an issue as much as time is. Newly married with a 10 month old son working rediculous overtime right now . You know how it is. So instead of buying my normal half finished product and finishing it myself. I'm gonna shop around for exactly what i want. Essentially, this is what i'm looking for to start with, and how its gonna be used:

note: this is not ment to be an advertisement. I am simply stateing my intentions and goal, for the purpose of hearing whatever reccomendations ya'll have for me. I am newish to diesel building. I have a fair amount of exp building gas trucks, but this will be my first diesel. Thus another reason why i wanna take it slow.

This truck is inteded to be my everyday driver/ toy. I drive 60 miles a day 6 days a week. so gasmilage is somewhat of an issue, but not that much of one. Need to find a happy medium. Ment to look showroom good. Will i be towing with it? occasionally. Excessive loads? unlikely. Will i possibly be doing stress relieving burnouts in my shop parkinglot? Indeed! that being said... here goes.

1) '97 f250/350 supercab old body style
supercab purpose is solely for space for one of my awesome sound systems.

2) Manual trannsmission zero exception

3) stock highth. absolutly no lifts. I will be putting larger tires on, and my even do a little body chop to fit them in.

4) truck must be in perfect condition. or as close to perfect as possible.
no stacks (i may put a single, trucker-style stack on driverside, but i have no desire to reduce bed storage)

5) duel tanks

now what i'm looking for from you guys, is reccomendations for preformance improvement, anything i should know about the transmissions, and what i might be expecting to pay for what i'm looking for. Thank you much guys!
