Possible Bad IDM or IPR valve
I've got a 96 powerstroke 7.3l with 130k. I'm experiencing a loss of power and frequent stalls. This happens when idle or in flight. It starts just fine and doesn't smoke. I took it to Perry ford of San Diego for a diagnostic. This is verbatim what the technician said;
START TRUCK, RUNS VERY ROUGH AND STALLS, PERFORM K OFO INJECTOR SELF TEST. ALL INJECTORS BUZZ. CODES FOR #2, 4, 6, 8 LOW SIDE. POWER BALANCE #2, 4, 6, 8 NO CONTRIBUTION. REC REPLACE IDM AND RETEST
Basically, from my understanding as a novice the IDM isn't making 2, 4, 6 and 8 injectors work, so its assumed to be faulty. Its not that I don't have faith in the technician, but this would be an expensive repair, even to perform myself. I want the input from my fellow diesel brethren before I take a chance. I've read that when an IDM code is thrown it could be a number of things.

UPDATE 6/17/2013
I ordered a rebuilt IDM (Injector Drive Module) from Auto Module Source in Florida. A couple hours ago I switched that sucker out with the old one and it runs perfect!
