Default 7.3 problems

ok so recently i have been having troubles with my 97 7.3 it seems like it is just dying for a couple of seconds and seems to only do it on the highway, ill be driving and i will be around 1800rpm then all of a sudden it will basically die then turn back on several times very fast. whem it does this a little bit of white comes out but im assuming its unburn diesel from the engine turning over but not firing and when it gets up a bit higher in temperature it stops, also if it does this and i floor it the engine will come back to life any input would be great. oh also i know i do have a couple injectors going #2 and #7 on the injector cycle does anyone know which cylinder these injectors would be in.

As for the stalling, its more than likely the CPS. Is it really consistent?

what does cps stand for? and it only does it when the truck is coldish but once it gets hot it stops for the most part, cold ish it will do it fairly constant (3 times per block) it started doing it in town now under 1000rpm and stalled basically at an idle, it seems to do it if it is under any sort of load other then that it will idle and high idle just fine. i do have injector cleaner and diesel conditioner in it will that have anything to do with it?

cam position sensor, these things are notorious for going out. They stall the truck just like you are describing, but the conditioner shouldn't have anything to do with it. I wouldn't think anyway. Maybe someone else will chime in.....

CPS or cold oil through a weak HPOP

ok so today i start my truck and it starts up fine runs for about a minute or so without a problem so i click on the high idle to warm it up and after about 5 minutes of it high idling it start spitting and sputtering and almost dying so i turned it back to normal idle and it died, started back up fine then died within 30 seconds and did this 3 more times before i gave up wwith the thing. the truck fires up within 2-3 turnovers

have you tried taking your chip off? Leave it off for a while and drive the truck and see if it messes up with no chip installed. Id also check and make sure the main engine harness hasnt rubbed through on the top of the valve cover. #7 is last one on pass. side #2 is first one on driver side.

the truck has no chip on it, used to have an edge but took it off after a month because it was junk, checked the wiring and it was fine

oh ok was confused bout the click to high idle. Only ever seen high idle with a chip

is there anyway you can monitor your icp pressure while driving? have seen icp sensors drop out intermittantly and cause an engine to hiccup while driving
