Any tips for a good place to get it built? Can I buy a kit and have someone I know do it for the tranny? And what would I need to make a e fuel system or is a air dog worth it's money? And how would I tell if it's early or late 95? Would the vin number be able to tell that?

check the engine serial number. i believe those with the newer front cover start with 375549

you can buy an air dog or a fass, they're worth the money but expensive. to make your own you will need:
fuel pump, most people use a SD pump or a Walpro pump
fuel pressure regulator, most use the aeromotive
fuel filter and water separator with mounting bracket
also a controller, strictly diesesl sells a controller/ oil pressure swich setup for pretty cheap
