no fire to injectors
I have a 1996 F-250 7.3 auto 4x4. My truck was running had a intake gasket go bad and started to get worse. i pulled it in to my shop to replace the gasket. easy enough job. deleted the ebpv while i had the turbo off. i noticed that one of the pigtails going to the valve cover was cracked so i went ahead and replaced both valve cover gaskets with new harnesses and pig tails. i was very careful matching the wires up double checked then triple checked. got the truck back together time to fire it up. thats a big no go checked the fuel pressure a little low so i replaced the fuel pressure reg on the back of the hpop still no start changed the cam sensor since it was the orignal one with 305 on the clock. still no start checked oil in pan and hpop both good bleed fuel lines no start the glow plugs are working. rpms move and oil pressuer come up on the gauges when cranking im keeping the truck on a trickel charge to keep the batterys up with all the cranking. i have not even been able to get her to puff out white smoke. i had a friend scan her with a snap on computer trouble code P1663 looked it up it fdcm i have checked visualy checked every wire back to the idm i have a feeling that could be bad but it was running and started better and faster then the 02 7.3 we have with 40k on the motor. could the idm just went bad like that ? i do not know any one with a idm that will work with my truck that i could swap out to rule that out. i have a few lead on a couple but with the holidays its hard to get up with people. also had a friend tell me if cracked the oil lines witch i did that it will not start untill i change my oil is that true? sound kinda silly to me. any help or advice would be great thanks. Kenny
