Default vacum or hydraulic

im having problems for a time now with the vacum pump whent to the mecanic he used to work on school buses and big truck told him bout the vacum pump recomended i change to a hydraulic system less troublesome and cheaper in the long haul and right now
what do you guys recomend

What is the actual issue? If your having an issue with a vacuum pump, why would you do anything but replace the vacuum pump?

iv heard in this an other blogs that the vacum pump usualy gives out in a year or less and that they arent all that good also the mecanic told me that they dont take that much abuse and im planing on keping the truck for a long time (hauling and off road) and in these parts of the woods its kind of hard to get parts for the truck have to order and whait even orailys and pep boys, theres a napa tow towns down haven gone to it
