Help! swapped engine and now have some ''bugs'' to work out
Hi everyone - new to the forum and kinda new to powerstrokes so bare with me here. I bought a 1996 f-350 a few years back and got a screaming deal on it because the p/o severely abused the engine. Well it finally went belly up so i found a new used engine to replace it. The install went great and it fired right up but i now have some "issues'' the 1'st one being its absolutely gutless warm or cold. It sounds great and idles fine but it feels like my turbo magically disappeared it just can't get out of its own way it would barely pull any hills not a thing like my old engine. I understand these things are sluggish when cold but its the same at operating temp. I did some research and could this be my EBPV? I checked the rod before I installed the engine and it moved in and out fine. My other issue is when cold it starts fine and idles normal but when warm it will start then die a few times then about the 3rd time it will start and and stay running but with an erratic lopey idle and and there's no response from the throttle if u push it. about the 4th time if u punch it as soon as it fires it will rev up and then idle normal. I'd suspect my TPS but it worked fine with the old engine. I'm not sure if these issues are related. Any help would be much appreciated thanks!

It only had 155k with service records dating back to when it was new (it was a fleet truck) the low power issue sure feels fuel related to me but I very well could be wrong. Also something of note, my turbo is making a whine(like oil starved bearings) could it be on the way out and not building boost? I'm just kind of trying to get some sense of direction on what this could be before I go ripping parts off the old parts engine.
