That's what makes your glow plugs work properly. Yes you need to replace it, it can cause your glow plugs to not work properly and maybe electrical fires.

the burnt section is likely the glowplug power that melted when you had a faulty glow plug. It could affect the glow plugs, by not making a good connection and not allowing ample current to flow when they are activated, or the injectors on that side of the motor if the plug is damaged and will not stay plugged in, as it looks like the clip lock has been broken off.

I don't know if that end of the harness is replaceable, i do know the under valve cover harness and valve cover gaskets can be ordered through most major auto parts stores. you may want to go to a salvage yard and see if you can find a replacement plug, make sure to get as much wire as you can from the donor vehicle and replace that connector.

They can be had at any auto parts store... The new gasket comes with the pigtail that Benjamin is talking about... You definitely want to replace it...

FWIW, when I got my gaskets from Oriley's it was just the gaskets, no pigtail....

you must be referring to purchasing it at the stealership....

Fel-Pro VS50484R - Valve Cover Gasket Set | O'Reilly Auto Parts

I got this one because it was the only obtainable set within a 100 mile radius of my house and I needed them yesterday and couldn't wait for them to order in the Dorman kit, for the extra few bucks buying the Dorman kit over the Fel-Pro is a no brainer....

Thx guys. I was beyond pissed when I saw this. Being a college kid it was hard enough to come up with $120 for glow plugs then to see that. But if it is that cheap then I'll go ahead and pick up a set. Do you think that could explain why I have an injector that acts like it just randomly quits with no warning. It did it a few days ago and I messed with the plugs since all my clips are broken for some reason?

It could cause an intermittent connection... Without that clip holding the connector together, it might wiggle itself on and off... That connector controls the electronic signal to your injectors as well as your glow plugs...
