Like the title says, i've got a 7.3 econoline 350. I've had it for about a month and am pretty fresh to the diesel world.

Got in it to go to lunch today, and it started stumbleing pretty hard. Once, twice and on the third one it set off the "service engine soon" indicator. I had left the headlights on for about 3 hours while it was sitting there and when I started it the belt was squeeking pretty bad, figured the alt was pushing hard to try and keep up and that I had run the batteries down a bit. Dont know if this would have anything to do with it.

Ideas?

If the CEL came on, a code is stored and that will help you in your search for the problem. See if you can't find someone near you or a dealership/auto shop to scan your truck...
