New truck I need some help please
Hey guys I just recently purchased a new 2011 f-250 and I would like to know some goods an bads on the truck I recently had a 03 6.0 and that thing was just a piece of crap. I would like to know what I can do to this 6.7 what small upgrades do y'all recommend an if I put a programer on the truck would it be safe ???
Thanks for your time any advice would be greatly appreciated

Any programmer and you can kiss your warranty good bye. H&S is probably the hot ticket right now though. I know Spartan also has tunes out too, and there are deletes for everything already. Personally I'd rock it stock, they're pretty quick stock and I couldn't afford to void a warranty on such a nice new truck.
Goods: Everything seems to be an improvement over the previous powerstrokes. Power is up, mileage is up, not a lot of problems are being reported. I've heard of a few isolated cases of turbos grenading with relatively short mileage, but that's a relatively easy fix.
Get some pics up!

Yes they'll find it. You can't straight pipe without the programmer, you need the programmer to turn the regens off. If you put one on, kiss warranty good bye, they WILL see it no matter what on these new trucks. Unless you get lucky and find a dealer that just doesn't care... but even still, if they send an engineer out to check it out, they will see it.

my buddy has one, and basically we both have duallys, pull the same trailer and loads and he averages about 1 mpg less than me(my 01 7.3). his turbo starting making noise around 60k, ford put a new one on and to the best of my knowledge, thats his only issue and we haul everyday. when momma lets me get my hands on the check book, i'll have one!!!

I work at a Ford dealer, they absolutely will find it. Ford beats the crap out us dealers about warranty $, we have to fight to get paid for justified repairs. There is no way to hide a tuner. Tuner a 6.0 will lift the heads almost everytime, 6.7 is night & day in comparison with improvements. Seen very little issues at all, however have seen where some dealers on message boards are posting about valves breaking....not sure what that issue is from. Ford has learned their lesson with the 6.0 ....don't look for Ford to warranty the 6.7 if it has any mods!

You might be able to get away with just a MP-8 pressure box and they were good for something like 50-100rwhp, but I still wouldn't put anything on one of these trucks unless you're prepared to pay out of pocket for every repair. They're taking this motor very seriously, and deservedly so.
Also I was wrong before about regen, I don't believe these trucks even regen, I believe they rely solely on the urea to burn the soot out of the DPF. I haven't really looked too much into the emissions systems on them, I just know I don't like them! At least this way yields higher mileage vs the DPF/regen process on the 6.4's.

I'm running the latest update from Nov 2011 and that fixed the low end surge, but tuning is still far from great. I called Spartan. I might try them. The H&S is good, but it sure could be better. I can get both, so let me know if I can help you. It might be better to talk in person so I can explain what the good and bad are. My # is in your PM box.
