Urea is very clean and highly concentrated- don't even compare it with pee.
You can get a jug of urea at every diesel fuel station station in europe. Urea is used in trucks only- they don't want the small commuter car driver to hassle around with an additional fluid.
The new BMW's have already euro emisson level five. Level six is coming soon
.
European trucks using addblu carry an extra 25 gal tank with them- that amount lasts a while. You can recognize these tanks on their blue coded filler caps.
Over here it is done to keep truck road tax down-it is emissons related.

As far as Ero commuter vehicles are concerned it is not limited to just trucks. Mercedes and Volkswagen have urea in A form of injection or a dry canister type that screws in. Mercedes trade marked Adblu. BASF is the controlling entity of the price of urea in Europe. Some European States do not require the use of urea. the vehicles that have it do exist.

There is still no urea use in passenger cars.

I live in germany, I should know if urea is available as a screw in or factory version. And we have the strictest emission laws in europe...
Nope, only Mercedes, MAN,and all the semi truck engine producers like KHD, Deutz, and so on do provide urea solutions- VW is still testing and building DPF's..

Well then you have heard of the GL, ML, and R class Mercedes with the BlueTec SCR systems. or the VW Touarag BlueTDI that has been around since 2008. Germany loves their Diesels and allot of their larger cities have vehicles with SCR systems. It is not just trucks. The technoogy has been in use in Europe since 2006.

Here is an extensive PDF on SCR if you read this you will know almost as much as I do. https://www1.eere.energy.gov/vehicle...er_jackson.pdf Like I said I have been to half a dozen seminars and business meetings on the subject. I am not an expert on the subject. I do have some extensive knowledge about it. I have no idea whats in Europe, or germany for that fact. I am just going by what has been told to most of us, by europeans that have developed the systems.

Here is some basic consumer information if the first one was to much. This was written by Cummins.
http://www.cumminsfiltration.com/pdf...es/MB10033.pdf

Do note that the first PDF was made in 2006 the info is considered old. If you scroll down to the use and range of the stuff, you might find something interesting.

the blue TDi simply is a name for efficient combustion and low fuel consumption-like the Polo blue,Passat blue, Golf blue...
Also it is blue efficiency called at mercedes.
Lol, Do you call those three mercedes luxury models being introduced this year with blue tech a market saturation solution???
Guess how many Fords you can buy for one MercML starting at 53,000€(68,000US$) not including anything less than an ashtray?
Man, they drive around with adblue semis since 2004- we have Sep2010 now. I wouldn't call that a fast pace...
Funny- I call that an evironmental friendly solution for those that have the money. at least they go in emission class 6 and pay no tax at all for their vehicles.

If it is for the rich in europe. then why are they marketing the stuff. I will say it again I was going off of what was told to my self, Cheveron, flying J, Cervantes Delgato, Brentag, Fleet guard... ETC, buy Europeans that developed the infrastructure for DEF in Europe. My hope was to enlighten the members of the use of DEF and the hope that DPF goes buy the way side. We were told that dispensers were built to handle commuter vehicles. The big companies are in the process to do that here. I was going to be one of them till they closed the door.
