I bought my 08 F-350 Crew Cab used as a fleet vehicle from Canada with 27,000 miles on it 2 years ago. Now have 39,000. Only have seen the cleaning filter light come on twice, had to have it towed twice - a rear brake cylinder lock up and fail loosing all brakes, one battery failed under warranty and it wouldn't start, put a Banks 6 Gun Tuner, exhaust, & air filter on it in Mt. Vernon, WA and headed over the N. Cascades, unit failed just before we got into the wilderness and we limped back to Camping World with it saying one cylinder was out. Took off the tuner & it ran perfectly. First time the dealer's mechanic ever saw one fail. Today I had to replace the HVAC blower motor resister. Occasionally when I start it sounds like a fan is going at full speed, something whistles like crazy (probably the supercharger) occasionally after pulling my trailer and then sitting overnight. Keeps doing it even after warmed up, shut off, restarted. Sometimes stops for a few seconds but starts again - always one pitch, no matter the engine speed, moving or idling except it ocasionally pops up to a harmonic of original tone for a few seconds. VERY LOUD, it draws attention but has never done it when at the dealers for them to hear. Usuall gone the next day. This is my first diesel, and it pulls like crazy. I love most of it, just not the issues and the crappy mileage - about 10.5-11 pulling my travel trailer on the road, 11-12 city, and up to maybe 13.5 if you mix in more long stretches of open road. Goes down significantly when over 50-55 mph. I have a light foot so I'm not punching it.

I have a 08 f350 with 106k on it. looking at buying a Spartan DashDaq tuner. ive read up a bit on it. has tunes for DPF on and off. plus if you have a warranty the spartan completely deletes itself off the comp. DPF delete will help with the mileage alot.

Just because it deletes itself off, you can still tell it had a program on the truckin a couple ways. One, it leaves a footprint any time you hook up to the data port, and the can tell the truck hasn't been going into regen like its supposed to
