Default Broke water separator tank valve lever

I was opening the valve to drain my water seperater and the lever on the valve snapped off. I finished changing filters drove the truck 3 miles and let warm up and I didn't see any fuel leak out. I couldn't tell if the valve was open or shut but if its not open it's close to being open. My question is it safe to drive it tomorrow I have a 30 mile commute one way to work and will get a rebuild kit on my way home. If it works its way open some how will I loose a lot of fuel? My tank is almost on e.
